PostSubject: Rules and Regulations   Fri Jul 27, 2007 5:18 pm

ASL Rules and Regulations

- Our rules are simple, no cheaters, no glitchers and no
wyners!!
- Our league is for open honest play, without the wall glitching or mountain top climbing that is not normaly possible to get to, but by just walking to. This is an arena where you can come and play without having to punch a hole in your wall, or dissowning your family.

Basic League Setup

- We will meet once a week, for 16 weeks.
- We will also have a playoff season.
- The rules basically are, 8 home games and 8 away games. Now every clan will have 8 home games. In these home games the home team will have 2 maps to pick. The away clan will only pick one.
- You can only choose 1 map type per season and playoff. Once you use a particular map, ex: Citadel demo Seals, you can't pick that map again.
- You can choose night or day also, but you can't say I use day last time now I'll use night, nope. You can say Citadel control points seals, this is permissable.

The other standard rules of GB style play is also used

- A 48hr notice must be posted by the home team of the maps to be used
- A 24hr notice by the away team must be posted prior to each war
- Failure to do a map post will result in a loss to the offending clan.
- Contact Referees about any disputes and if nothing is settled then a vote by the administration will be in order.

ZERO TOLERANCE

- The zero tolerance will be in effect the day the league starts!
- Simply put, anyone or any clan caught cheating by "cord pulling" "wall glicthing""lagg switching" will be removed from the league immediately and excummunicated from any further or future league wars!

Cheating / Glitching

- There will be no cheating or glitching allowed in this tournament. Though our Moderators will not spectate every match, they will be ON CALL to show up immediately should a problem occur.
- Cheating is defined as any failure to abide by the directions or instructions posted on this forum by me that would purposefully or accidently give your team an advantage during play.
- Glitching is defined as exploiting an error in the game's design or coding that allows your character to break the in-game physics laws, by either passing through a solid object, warping or traveling from point "A" to point "B" at an unnatural speed, or having the capability to see or shoot through any solid object, excluding "solid" objects intended by the game to be shot through, such as wooden objects.
- Using explosive devices to reach otherwise inaccessable locations is also considered a "glitch."

Six Question Test

- For the purpose of this tournament, we will use the six-question test to determine any questionable location. If you have any question on something you have found in the map, you can apply these six questions. If you must answer "Yes" to any of them, the location or menuever is NOT AUTHORIZED for this tournament.
- Six-Question Test:
1. Do you have to pass through any solid objects to reach the location?
2. Does your character have to be given any sort of "push" by an explosive device or fall to enter the location?
3. When in the location, can you see or shoot through any solid objects?
4. From this location, can you "fall off the map" or see the edges of the map's design?
5. By using this jump or location, can you enter the actual terrorist compound (not the back yard) without breaching anything?
6. When in this location, is your character immune from harm?

If cheating/glitching is apparent

- What should we do if we suspect our opponents are cheating or glitching? If you suspect your opponents are cheating or glitching, contact a Moderator immediately, and someone will try to get into your room to spectate the match.
- Please tell the moderator everything you can about the player and the suspected glitch.
-NO QUICK SNIPING!!

Punctuality / Time Limits

- Once a date and time have been agreed-upon in your scheduling thread, a Moderator or tournament Referee will create a room called "ASL LEAGUE ROOM" in Canada West Ranked 1 at the "forum" time (PACIFIC STANDARD TIME) in which you agreed to play.
- Round Count, 9 rounds @ 5mins a round.
- All games will have a password which will be given to the leaders of each clan prior to the league start.
- If there are multiple "ASL LEAGUE ROOM"s up, you may have to drop into a few to find the correct one.
- Once in the room, the Mod or Ref will explain the rules once again and make sure each team's grenadier is identified.
- At that time, you may pose any questions you wish to the Ref. If he or she cannot answer your question, you may contact a moderator on Skype if you wish, to make any clarifications.
- The ASL LEAGUE ROOM will be put up 10 minutes prior to match time, and will be held open for 10 minutes after the agreed-upon time. At 10 minutes after the agreed-upon time, the brief will be given and your match room will be open. Once your passworded match room is created, there is no more time alloted for your team to arrive. The match must begin immediately.
- What do we do if our opponents refuse to green up in the passworded match room? If your opponents refuse to green up when you are in a passworded room, contact a Moderator immediately.
- What do we do if the Referee is late in setting up the ASL LEAGUE ROOM, or doesn't show up at all? If a moderator doesn't get a ASL LEAGUE ROOM open by 5 minutes prior to your agreed match time, you (as a TEAM CAPTAIN) may put up the ASL LEAGUE ROOM.
- If at the agreed-upon time you still don't have a Referee or Moderator on board, contact a Moderator before creating your passworded match room.

Ranged Explosives

- For this league, we have specific guidelines for the use of "Ranged Explosives."
- ONLY MAPS THAT USE TANKS OF ANY FORM CAN 203's MGL's etc... be allowed.
- However only 2 GRENADIERSwill be allowed per team.
- IF THE GRENEDIER DIES NO ONE FROM EITHER SIDE CAN PICK UP HIS/HER WEAPON! ONLY THE DESIGNATED PLAYERS THAT WERE CHOOSEN FROM THE START CAN USE THESE WEAPONS.
- IF THAT PLAYER CHOOSES TO STOP USING THE 203 OR MGL THEN NO ONE ELSE CAN BECOME THE GRENADIER. HE MUST USE THAT WEAPON FOR THE ENTIRE MAP!
- On a side note, RPG's must be used only on vehicles, if a soldier is alongside a vehicle that's RPG'ed well that's called collateral damage.
- What if our opponent is breaking the rules? Refer to the Cheating / Glitching section, and contact a Moderator immediately.

Boot / "Mass Boot"

- Getting booted is always a problem when playing in tournaments.
- Here are our rules for boots and our definition of a "mass boot."
- For the purpose of this league, and because SOCOM 3 should place players on the deminished side, a Mass Boot is a very rare event, but is defined as: Any time five or more players from both teams ( 10 + total ) have been booted, and re-entry causing a serious problem getting players back into the room and onto the correct team throughout the course of one complete map.
- If this happens, try your best to get players back into the room and onto the correct team, all the while communicating with text (keyboard) to confirm "mass boot" status and PLAY OUT THE MAP!
- Once returned to the lobby, the losing team leader can demand a re-play of that map (not the entire war), but a MODERATOR MUST BE CONTACTED FIRST!
- Moderators can be contacted by way of cell phone to settle disputes. Both team captains (or a team representative) must be available to talk to the moderator before being contacted.
- Further information on how to contact moderators will be posted in a different topic. What if I get booted and come back in on the wrong side?
- You must leave immediately and re-join, only into the lobby so you can see which side you are on, until you get on the proper side.
- If you get voted off of the opposing team's side during play and cannot return to the room, there's nothing we are going to do for you.
- There's no reason to be on the wrong side for that long.
- What if only a couple people from my team get booted but for some reason when they join it puts them on the wrong team, even though we are clearly outnumbered? This is a rare glitch that I have seen happen in SOCOM 3, unfortunately. If this happens, have a player in-game communicate through keyboard with the other team what is going on and PLAY OUT THE MAP. Afterwards, the deficient team may contact a Moderator to discuss a re-play. The Moderator must talk to both team captains

Rosters

- All teams need to be registered, this time we will allow the leaders or appointed persons to make the list of the clan members, once the preseason games start, the rosters will be closed.
- Leaders are responsible for confirming the names on the opposing clans roster, prior to the start of the war.

A lot of leagues are trying to regulate quick sniping now. Its kind of dumb because it is very hard to catch someone doing it.

this doesnt seem that bad... but the only real way to catch someone is out of luck that the ref looks at him and he does it..... or you can tell the refs to keep their eyes on that guy.. and maybe catch it that way... but the whole thing with ranged explosives is just stupid....

ok i am pretty sure i broke the rules

- On a side note, RPG's must be used only on vehicles, if a soldier is alongside a vehicle that's RPG'ed well that's called collateral damage.

i came off of that mountain and fucked 2 people up. that werent anywhere near a vehicle

but this rule is just pointless, and i guarentee it will be broken like every match
